I have decided what the three priorities for growth and transformation in
my life are.
These priorities are relationship driven and are:
1) Knowing and Loving our Triune God—Father;
Jesus, the Son;
and Holy Spirit.
2) Knowing and Loving myself
3) Connecting with and Loving others
We cannot really accomplish the last two priorities until we awaken to and
understand Whose we are and who we are.
Our True Identity begins in God, as our Loving Creator, who calls Their
creation very Good. Scripture says that Father God “chose us in Him
before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4). It also describes our
physical creation as being “knit together in our mother’s womb” (Psalm
139:13). To the smallest detail, God knows our thoughts before they
become spoken words (Psalm 139:4). They have numbered every hair on
our heads (Matthew 10:30).
God’s great purpose for us is that we glorify (make much of) Them—
Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and enjoy Them forever. We in God and God
in us, like a great glorious dance!
This leads to my last two priorities. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus says,
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul
and with all your mind… And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
I am making it a priority to know and love myself as God intends. As I
grow more in the Love and Knowledge of God, I am better able to know
and love myself as Beloved Daughter. I used to think it selfish to focus on
loving me, but if I don’t/can’t find my true identity, I’m not able to gain
vision and find opportunities to co-create with him and truly connect with
and love others as He does. If Jesus says to love God, love self and love
others, that must be the order of things if we are to flourish and live
abundantly in The Kingdom—life with God, now and forever.
